UNC’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication boasts a tradition of scholarship and cutting edge practice.  Our students are able to immerse themselves in real world experiences in ReeseNewsLab, in the incubator Powering the Nation, in the student organized and run Advertising and PR company HeelPrint.   This blog will reflect the culture and heritage of a school that is 100 years old and focused on the changes underway.  We are preparing students for a media world they will invent.  We prepare them to be digital storytellers with the ability to write well, think critically and analyze boldly.Although the blog will be a dean’s musings, I hope it will challenge, provoke, or amuse. It is proof we must all leave our comfort zones in this era of change and experiment.
